Classical Guitar Concert in Haddington by Carlos Bonell

Greenstrings Music are putting on a classical guitar concert by world-acclaimed guitarist Carlos Bonell. Carlos is no stranger to playing in front of Royalty or the White House, and this promises to be a night to remember. The concert is on Saturday, 28th November, 2009 at 7.00 p.m. (doors open at 6.45 p.m.) at St. Mary's Church, Haddington. Tickets cost £14 and can be purchased from Waterloo Bistro in Haddington or Sounds Instrumental in Musselburgh. In addition on the same day Carlos will be performing at a children's matinee at St. Mary's Church. Tickets are £7 per adult which includes 2 children being admitted free. On Sunday, 29th November, 2009 Carlos Bonell will be holding a classical guitar Masterclass in Haddington - and ideal opportunity for amateur and accomplished players to 'pick up tips'. Players must be of at least grade 4 standard. Tickets for players are £15 and observers are £9.

The Big Bulb Plant - Prestonpans

Community bulb planting from 2.30 p.m. on Saturday 26th September in Cuthill Park, Prestongrange Road, Prestonpans.

It is a large public space which has enjoyed some regeneration recently but would benefit from a horticultural hug.

This event is being organised by East Lothian Book Club for Fabulous Women as part of The Big Bulb Plant. It would be FABULOUS if you could join us. Bring bulbs!

Late night Festival Trains

A new late-night train to North Berwick is among this year’s services. The service will run on Fridays and Saturdays and depart at 2337 - 30 minutes after the usual last train.

The 2337 Edinburgh Waverley - North Berwick service will call at Musselburgh, Wallyford, Prestonpans, Longniddry, Drem and North Berwick. It will run on Fridays from 7 August - 4 September inclusive and on Saturdays from 8 August - 5 September inclusive.
